The Patrol Officer Counter ambush course has been developed to provide current response tactics to officers that are caught in a close proximity vehicle ambush.
This course covers advanced combat shooting techniques to prepare students of the advanced tactical training scenarios of the course. Students will participate in a ballistics lab that will cover the effects of duty ammunition fired through intermediate barriers and auto glass. Students will be trained in how to respond to a close proximity ambush by using leading edge tactics and procedures. Students will be taught methods of engaging through auto glass, emergency evacuation procedures and communication. Students will be assessed on their ability to maintain situational awareness while engaging multiple threats and while conducting emergency evacuation procedures. This course will also include a module on tactical emergency combat care and will address identifying life threatening trauma, hemorage control and use of hemostatic agents. This course is a must for all patrol officers.
