RSS Instructor Mentoring Course




The Instructor Mentoring Course has been developed to enhance the existing teaching methods, knowledge base and training techniques of Law Enforcement Department Instructors.

This course will introduce student instructors to the Redback One Combat Shooting System and will detail learning objectives in advanced weapons handling techniques and procedures. This course will include formal lessons on building courses of instruction and will assist students with the development of learning objectives, training competencies and points of performance. Students will be introduced to methods of instruction relevant to the type of lesson being conducted, presentation techniques and lesson plan development. This course will combine theory lecture with practical exercises to form an informative and educational training program suitable for all firearms instructors or those aspiring to become a department firearms instructor.

The following equipment list is considered to be the minimum standard for students to arrive with. Students may augment this list with other personal equipment as required.


  • Carbine or Rifle w/ Sling, Optics and Accessories
  • Pistol w/ Holster
  • Carbine Magazines (4 minimum)
  • Carbine magazine pouches (mounted to belt or vest)
  • Pistol Magazines (3 minimum) 


  • Belt 
  • Range attire 
  • Weapon cleaning kit with sectional rods & lubrication supplies 
  • Eye and ear protection (Electronic Ear Pro Preferred) 
  • Hydration source
