REVISION OF REDBACK ONE COURSE AMMUNITION REQUIREMENTS FOR 2013 TRAINING YEAR

ANNOUNCEMENT:

INTRODUCTION

1. This announcement will address specific measures that Redback One is likely to implement for the 2013 training course schedule. These proposed changes would only affect our bulk shooting courses such as RSS L1 & L2 Courses, (Basic & Combat Carbine and Pistol) and RSS L3 Courses, (Advanced Combat Carbine and Pistol). Other course offerings, custom courses and contracted courses will either not be affected or may be only slightly affected.

2. In order to stay viable within our industry we must remain flexible and adjust to changes in a manner that reflects the best interests of our customers.

3. As the Government deliberates on gun control, the stability of the firearms industry remains in flux. This period of uncertainty has created hesitation to undertake training by the general public in an effort to retain ammunition stocks.

4. As a result, we have identified areas within our training curriculum that can be amended IOT suit our current operational environment. We have also identified potential logistical changes IOT make training achievable and affordable while minimizing the impact to course integrity.

KEY ASPECTS TO THE CONTINUED SUCCESS OF RB1 TRAINING

5. We will be addressing two key aspects in the way we do business that are likely to be implemented in phases.

Phase 1. Reduction in high round-count training drills.

Phase 2. Authorization of low cost, low recoil ammunition for use during bulk shooting courses.

REDUCTION IN HIGH ROUND-COUNT TRAINING DRILLS DURING REVISED COURSES

6. Phase one will be effective immediately. Until further notice, we will be reducing the required number of rounds for all of our bulk shooting courses detailed above. Curriculum for these courses will remain unchanged for the most part; although the number of repetitions will be reduced for specific elements of competency IOT conserve ammunition. Although all RB1 courses focus on marksmanship, there will be more time allocated to accuracy drills, weapon handling and Conditioned Response Training (CRT) during the revised course format. These revisions will provide students will a higher degree of individual proficiency in these skills.

7. The changes to ammunition for revised courses will be as follows:

Carbine courses: (RSS L2 / L3)

a. Primary Weapon. Students will now be required to arrive on course with 500 rounds of ammunition. (This has been reduced from 1000 rounds).

b. Secondary Weapon. Students will now be required to arrive on course with 100 rounds of ammunition. (This has been reduced from 400 rounds).

Pistol courses: (RSS L2 / L3)

a. Pistol. Students will now be required to arrive on course with 500 rounds of ammunition. (This has been reduced from 1000 rounds).

8. Any changes to course administrative requirements will be clearly identified within our training course joining instructions that are sent to each student prior to the commencement of every RB1 course.

AUTHORIZATION OF LOW COST, LOW RECOIL RIM-FIRE AMMUNITION DURING RB1 TRAINING COURSES

9. Phase two relates to the authorization of reduced cost, reduced recoil rim-fire ammunition for use during RB1 bulk shooting courses (detailed above). If implemented, all students using this type of ammunition will be required to use it ICW an AR platform rifle or carbine.

10. The decision to implement this type of ammunition will be based upon any changes to current laws or restrictions pertaining to, or affecting the procurement or availability of ‘standard’ training ammunition or firearms.

CONCLUSION

11. We anticipate a return to normal training conditions before long. Until then we will continue to plan and offer the industry’s most advanced, training curriculum. We look forward to a great training year with our customers. If anyone has any questions or concerns regarding this publication, please do not hesitate to contact us.
